The names of clients and information concerning clients receiving psychoeducational services from Mr. Jorge Trujillo are confidential. A confidentiality policy, based on that of the Ordre des psychoéducateurs et psychoéducatrices du Québec (Quebec Order of Psychoeducators), is in effect for both clients on the waiting list and those who are receiving or have received services from Mr. Jorge Trujillo. The professional is obligated to comply with this policy. The main elements of this policy are:

• Mr. Jorge Trujillo has a professional secrecy obligation. He does not disclose any information about a client except what has been formally authorized in writing, or verbally if there is an emergency, or if required by law.

• The professional obtains prior written authorization from the client to make an audio or video recording of an interview or activity. This authorization specifies the subsequent use of the recording as well as the terms for revoking this authorization.

• He does not disclose, without authorization, the identity of a client when consulting or being supervised by another professional.

• When a professional practices their profession with a couple or a family, they safeguard the right to professional secrecy of each member of the couple or family.

• When a professional works with a group, they inform the group members of the possibility that some aspect of the private life of one or more of them, or of a third party, may be revealed. They require the group members to respect the confidentiality of information concerning the private life of one or more of them, or of a third party.

• A professional may disclose information protected by professional secrecy, in order to prevent an act of violence, including suicide, when they have reasonable grounds to believe that an imminent danger of death or serious injury threatens an identifiable person or group of persons.

• The professional offers services via videoconference, therefore taking reasonable steps to ensure their competence, both with regard to the technologies they use and their potential impact on their clients. They ensure compliance with professional and ethical standards.
